Aldrin Zavala-Canett

Aldrin’s martial arts journey began at the age of 12 when he first stepped onto the wrestling mat. That early foundation of discipline and physical grit sparked a lifelong passion. By 14, he transitioned into a hybrid style of karate that integrated elements of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)—giving him his very first taste of the ground game that would eventually define his martial arts career.

In 2012, while stationed with the military in Key West, Aldrin formally dedicated himself to BJJ. His military career later took him to the historic training grounds of San Diego, and finally to Gloucester, where he continued to push his skills to the next level. Through years of dedication, consistency, and hard work, Aldrin earned his BJJ Brown Belt at Breakaway Jiu-Jitsu in 2024.

Outside of the gym, Aldrin has proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 18 years. He is also a dedicated family man, balancing his military service and training with raising his three kids.
